Marlgu Billabong
A beautiful area with plenty of bird life with a 3m saltwater crocodile - so no swimming. Limited parking but it is so remote l wouldn't expect a problem.

The road in is 7km of gravel. It's in okay condition and we managed it in a 2 wheel drive ford territory. At the billabong there is about 100 meters of board walk with 2 viewing platforms. One is open and the other is set up for bird watching. We saw lots of birds and 1 crocodilePlease like this review if it has been helpful.

Highly recommended. The hide structure is a fairly simple but superb public investment and comfortable for short or longer observation visits. The access ramp would suit wheelchairs and walkers. There are two tracks that intersect not too far from the hide and each connects to the Great Northern Highway. The shorter southern track is a bit rougher and passes by the old telegraph station. The northern track is longer and the relatively smooth ruts take you through low grassland fields. Condions for us were dry (May 21).Scenery here is wonderful and a highlight for our visit. Water, lots of birds, lilies in flower and mountain ranges near and far.Marlgu Billongbong is a must for any Wyndham visitor, possibly Kununurra as well.
